Jim Osborne by Ian C. Minich  2014

Raised in a suburb of New Orleans, my dichotic exposure to commercial as well as fine art photography effectuates a straightforward and formalistic approach in which light, texture and geometry are of primary interest. I have been a tintypist for the photographer Deborah Luster, a civilian field photographer for the United States Department of Defense, and a commercial studio photographer while pursuing personal works.

I received my BFA in photography from Louisiana Tech University in 2004 and  MFA in photography at Louisiana State University in 2014 and  I teach the occasional photography course as an adjunct instructor. The United States government, commercial clients and publications accessing my work through the Freedom of Information Act have published my photographs in all manner of media, both nationally and internationally since 2004.

I am currently based in Los Angeles, California, though I am available for travel to any location domestic or abroad. Please get in touch should you have questions about hiring me to photograph or consult on your next project or about purchasing prints.

Thank you,

Jim
